Freedom of the City with the 78th Highlanders

Time: 11:00 AM - 04:00 PMLocation(s): Halifax Citadel National Historic SiteFreedom of the City is an honour granted to military or paramilitary groups in recognition of their service to a municipality. Since 1998, the 78th Highlanders has exercised this privilege by marching through the streets of Halifax with bayonets fixed, drums beating, and Colours flying. Enjoy the special squad inspection inside the Citadel starting at 11 am, then follow the Highlanders as they march on parade.

Remembrance Day Commemorations

Time: 09:00 AM - 05:00 PMLocation(s): Halifax Citadel National Historic SiteCost: No admission charged.Parks Canada and the Halifax Citadel are honoured to join in Remembrance Day commemorations.
Starting at 11 am the 1st Field Artillery Regiment will fire a 21-gun salute at the front entrance followed by the firing of the noon gun.
The Halifax Citadel is open to visitors from 9 am to 5 pm.
The Army Museum will be open to visitors from 10 am until 2 pm.
