Activity for private groups

Guided tour

Let the guide take you from the Ironmaster’s House to the Blast Furnace, including the outdoor remains and the Devil's Fountain. Enter the legend of the Forges du Saint-Maurice on an intimate and captivating tour.

You will learn more about the history of the Forges and you can even imagine the infernal fire that rages within, the sound of hammers beating iron at the hands of skilled workers shaping kettles, weapons, nails, pans and other objects needed by the colony. You'll feel the heat, that's for sure!

Audience: groups of 12 or more people. This could be a family group, a group of friends, a social club, a group of employees, etc. It is possible to accommodate several groups at the same time.

Period: May to October

Length : 60 minutes

Languages offered English and French

Activity for French learning groups

Guided tour

The guided tour for French learning groups is the same as for the groups listed above, but guides can customize the activity to suit the needs of their audience. This presentation becomes a pretext for vocabulary and conversation practice between the guide and the students.

The group is then free to take a self-guided tour of the exhibitions and the various halls of Forges du Saint-Maurice National Historic Site.

Audience: intermediate and advanced French learning groups and accompanying persons

Capacity: groups of 12 or more people. It is possible to accommodate several groups at the same time.

Period: May to October

Length : 60 minutes

Language offered: French only

Customized tour

The team at Forges du Saint-Maurice National Historic Site can tailor a program and visit to suit the size of your day camp group and the duration of the activity.

Important information Forges du Saint-Maurice National Historic Site does not offer a day camp program, but rather welcomes day camp groups for a customized tour of half a day or less.

Audience: day camp groups. It is possible to accommodate several groups at the same time.

Period: June to August

Length: half a day or less

Languages offered: English and French
