Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve, National Marine Conservation Area Reserve, and Haida Heritage Site

The following definitions apply to entry and service fee categories unless otherwise specified

Adult - Person 18 to 64 years of age
Senior - Person 65 years of age or over
Youth - Person 6 to 17 years of age

Free admission for youth 17 and under

Reservations

Reservations for the 2026 season open on February 16, 2026 9:00am PST. 

As you research and plan your Gwaii Haanas trip, ensue you read our trip planning documents, review the relevant maps and charts, and know your trip dates and general route before making your reservation.

When booking, you will need to provide:

  • Your trip dates
  • Name, age category, email, and postal codes for each person in your group 

Ready to Make Your Reservation?

Complete the reservation form to initiate your reservation. A staff member will contact you to complete the process, and collect payment. Please note that completing the registration form does not guarantee the dates you have selected. You may also call us at 1-877-559-8818 to make your reservation. 

All visitors must complete a mandatory self-guided online orientation prior to their trip. Your booking receipt and proof of orientation completion must be carried with you while in Gwaii Haanas.

The registration link will be active starting on February 16th, 2026.

A note about weather: Travel in Gwaii Haanas is always weather dependent. Please factor in additional weather days when booking. Entry and exit dates are required to make  your reservation.

Are you travelling with a tour operator?

If you are travelling with a tour operator, you will make your reservation, pay your fee, and receive your orientation directly through your operator.

Free admission for youth 17 and under

As of January 1, 2018, admission to Parks Canada places for youth 17 and under is free! There’s no better time to create lasting memories with the whole family.

What is free?

Admission to all national parks, national historic sites, and national marine conservation areas operated by Parks Canada will be provided free of charge.

Free admission for youth only applies to places managed by Parks Canada. It does not apply to provincial parks, territorial parks, municipal and private parks, nor to the many historic sites not managed by Parks Canada.

Please refer to the full list of Parks Canada places before you plan your visit to take advantage of free admission for youth.

What is not free?

Parks Canada is pleased to offer free admission for youth at our parks and sites, however regular fees still apply for other experiences and services, such as:

  • Camping, backcountry and other accommodations
  • Radium, Miette, and Banff Upper Hot Springs
  • Northern Park Backcountry Camping and Excursion Permit
  • Lockage
  • Mooring
  • Reservation fees
  • Guided tours and hikes and programs not usually included with admission
  • Some special event fees
  • Firewood
  • Backcountry overnight use
