Come together with us at the Pine Lake Day Use Area for lots of family fun and food!
This community family picnic has something for everyone. A barbeque lunch is served starting shortly after 1 p.m. Throughout the afternoon take part in one of the workshops hosted by community organizations an activity led by Parks Canada team members. Cap off the perfect day at Pine Lake by challenging your family and friends in the annual canoe races. There might even be a special guest appearance from Parka, the Parks Canada mascot who calls Wood Buffalo National Park her home.

Save the date! Join us for a overnight celebration of stargazing and astronomy fun at Pine Lake!
Tentative Schedule of Events
Saturday
2pm to 5pm - Campsite set up - carve out your camp spot for the night
5 pm - STAR-BQ Kickoff to the Event – Hot dogs & Hamburger will be served
5:30 pm – Enjoy your food and participate in our Elder Storytime
6 pm – Personalized Tie-Dye Shirt Making
7 pm – Bottle Rocket Making and Launching
8 pm – Kite Decoration, Coloring, and Paper Crafts
9 pm - Join in the fun of the glowstick jamboree
10 pm - Evening activities - Participate in a night hike led by Parks Canada team members and sit back for some dark sky viewing
Sunday
8 am - Join us for breakfast, we’ll have a variety of items available
10 am - Pack up and head out
