Prince Edward Island National Park
Prince Edward Island National Park is open for you to enjoy with most facilities open from mid-May to early autumn every year. Full services are available in July and August. Limited services are available in May and June and again in September and October.

Beaches
There are numerous spectacular beaches located within PEI National Park from Cavendish to Greenwich. To access these beaches, all boardwalks and stairs will be installed from the Victoria Day weekend in May to late September every year.
Check out PEI Now; Park Updates: for surf conditions, posted daily by approximately 11 am from July 1 to Labour Day.
PEI National Park offers surfguard services in peak season.

There are many scenic trails located within Prince Edward Island National Park, each with its own unique features. The trails vary in length as well as in sight and sound. Hiking and cycling are popular activities on our trails. Picnicking is a very popular activity in PEI National Park. Where to buy your park pass
The Canada Strong Pass is back for the holidays and summer 2026! Parks Canada is offering free admission and a 25% discount on fees for camping and overnight stays from June 19 to September 7, 2026 inclusive.
When visiting a national park or national historic site, you must have a valid national park pass from June 3 to June 18, 2026, inclusive. PEI National Park offers various options and locations to buy your pass.
Entrance fees collected are invested directly back into Parks Canada’s activities and visitor facility improvements. Having a pass is a great way to connect with nature while investing in the services and infrastructure that make each visit memorable.
Day pass
Provides entry to PEI National Park for one day. Available in-person at the following locations:
- Ardgowan National Historic Site, 2 Palmers Lane in Charlottetown, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
- Green Gables Heritage Place (seasonal)
- PEI National Park entrance gates (seasonal)

Winter access
Prince Edward Island National Park is open for Islanders and other visitors to continue to enjoy during the winter; however, visitor services and facilities in the park are closed between mid-October and mid-May.
Additional winter information
Parks Canada continues to clear snow from the Gulf Shore Parkway between Cavendish and North Rustico and between Brackley and Dalvay to allow access during the winter.

Parks Canada does not groom cross-country ski trails, monitor and remove felled trees from trails (other than the groomed Cavendish Campground trails), maintain beach accesses or maintain Dalvay Lake for skating. Washroom facilities and warm-up shelters remain closed.
Please note: There is limited emergency services provided by Parks Canada during winter hours. Visitors are welcome to explore the park by foot, snowshoe or skis, view wildlife, and participate in other preferred winter activities, but should be reminded that they are responsible for their own safety.
