Forillon National Park
Please note that after the park's seasonal closure, from early October to the end of May, drinkable water is no longer available in the picnic shelters at the tip of Penouille and Grande-Grave. Visitors are encouraged to bring an adequate supply.
All the picnic areas listed below offer views of the gulf, the bay, or the river. What could be more pleasant than enjoying a meal surrounded by fabulous scenery?
The running water available in the park is sometimes designated as non-drinkable. We recommend that you bring your own supply.
Picnic areas without shelters
The following picnic areas feature a pit toilet and garbage cans:
- Tip of Penouille
- Fort Peninsula
- Petit-Gaspé beach
- L'Anse-Saint-Georges beach
- L'Anse-aux-Amérindiens beach
- Cape Gaspé
- Le Portage (North entrance)
Picnic areas with shelters
At these locations, you will find picnic shelters equipped with running water, restrooms, and a wood-burning stove, unless otherwise noted:
- Tip of Penouille
- Cape Bon-Ami
- Grande-Grave harbour
- Prélude-à-Forillon trail (no wood-burning stove or running water)
Open picnic shelters
At these locations, you will find open picnic shelters without running water, restrooms, or wood-burning stoves:
- Penouille (terrace at the visitor information centre)
- Penouille (1.2 km from the visitor information centre)
- Cap-des-Rosiers harbour (back terrace of the visitor information and discovery centre)
- South entrance to the Du Banc trail
- Halfway along the Du Banc trail
