2025 - 2026 Non-Motorized Weekends

The Non-Motorized Weekend schedule designates weekends where use of snowmobiles is not permitted in the Chilkoot Trail National Historic Site. This season’s non-motorized weekends are:

• December 12 to 14, 2025
• January 2 to 4, 2026
• January 23 to 25, 2026
• February 13 to 15, 2026
• March 6 to 8, 2026 - Log Cabin parking is closed to the general public to accommodate the Annual Buckwheat International Ski Classic.
• March 27 to 29, 2026
• April 17 to 19, 2026

2025-2026 Non-Motorized Weekends (PDF, 190 Kb)

Pursuant to Section 12(1) of the National Historic Parks General Regulations, the use of snowmobiles in the Chilkoot Trail National Historic Site (CTNHS) is designated as restricted, prohibiting their use during the Non-Motorized Weekends. This includes the operation, loading, and unloading of snowmobiles in the entire CTNHS, including the Log Cabin parking lot. Non-motorized weekends extend from 1:00 am on Friday through 12:00 Midnight on Sunday, as identified on the above schedule. Snowmobiles are permitted at all other times.
