Pursuant to section 36(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, of the Canada National Parks Act, the following area is closed to all traffic and travel by order of the Superintendent.

For the purposes of this notice, a permanent closure of the section of the Mekinac Trail along the Saint-Maurice River is in effect due to landslides and soil instability. This section must be closed to ensure visitor safety and is inaccessible (see attached map):

• Permanent closure: a portion of the Mekinac Trail is closed for safety reasons.

Persons who do not comply with this notice may be subject to legal proceedings under section 24 (1) of the Canada National Parks Act.
