2025-01-27 IACH change name

Dear colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that Parks Canada’s Indigenous Affairs and Cultural Heritage Directorate will now be known as the Indigenous Stewardship and Cultural Heritage Directorate (ISCH). Similarly, the Indigenous Affairs Branch will now be named Indigenous Stewardship. This change is being made to ensure that the name of the directorate aligns with the work we are continuing to advance with Indigenous partners.

At Parks Canada, we are committed to continuing to strengthen and enhance relationships with Indigenous partners, while implementing the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, and the recently enacted Indigenous Stewardship Policy, October 2024.
